May 22nd 2023, Barcelona – The Spaniard Pablo Suárez will join the third season of FIA RX2e Championship. Suárez has already competed in this Championship in its inaugural season in 2021 and last season with great results. He got a podium and finished in third place in the Championship in his debut, and last season, he achieved some wins in Heats and another podium, finishing sixth overall. For this new season, the Spanish driver is competing with Zeroid Motorsport, powered by QEV Technologies.
Suárez expects to put into practice everything he learned in the last two seasons to improve his results. To do so, he will have to fight against some rivals such as 2022 RX2e Champion Viktor Vranckx; last year’s runner-up, Isak Sjökvist or last season’s third classified Nils Andersson as well as other promising arrivals to the Championship. Pablo Suárez feels excited about this season’s grid: “This year’s grid level is so high, that, for sure, will push me to better myself as a driver and overcome some challenges”.
Suárez started his off-road career competing in gravel rally sprints at the age of 16 before branching out to take part in rally championships, some autocross and even ice racing. The Gran Canaria native completed the full 2010 season in the Andorra Ice Racing Series (G-Series), but soon turned his attention to more traditional surfaces and was crowned the 2014 Canary Island FWD Tarmac Rally Champion.
He also competed in several other categories, including the Dacia Sandero challenge of the 2016 Spanish Rally Championship, and in 2018, Suárez secured as vice-championship in VolantRACC Rally challenge, before stepping into Rallycross in 2021.
The Spanish driver cannot wait until the start of the season, just a few weeks ahead: “I’m so excited to be racing another season, I feel more prepared than ever to fight for the top steps of the podium; I enjoyed so much my first year of RX and had a great finale of season ending with a podium, what a blast! I want to keep working in this direction, that’s why I am always looking for improvement, and constantly working on my preparation… Norway, here we come!!”
The first round of the Championship will be in Hell, Norway on June 17th-18th. For more information regarding the FIA RX2e Championship, please visit www.fia-rx2e.com.
