March 11th 2024, Montmeló – On March 7th, the students of the Master and the Specialization Course in Motorsport & e-Racing were at the Calafat Circuit experiencing first-hand what a test day of the RX2e Championship is like.
This day was the final practice of the Track Engineering course, where the students had to prepare a run-plan to test during the day everything they had planned in the theoretical classes during the week. The QEV Academy students had Oscar Fuertes, rally driver, director of the Astara Team and four-time Dakar finisher, as their driver for the test day.
The day was divided into eight runs, with Oscar Fuertes doing four laps per run. After each one, he returned to the pit box and while the mechanics were in charge of loading the car and tweaking any details, the engineers met with him to analyse his data with Vbox, discuss how he felt in the car and, ultimately, receive feedback from the different configurations that were being tested.
Andrés Castillo, director of the Master and Course in Motorsport & e-Racing of QEV Academy points out the importance of this opportunity: “For some of them it has been their first experience on track and it will be a previous step either to continue with us or with other teams”.
This is the video-summary of the test day at the Calafat Circuit with the QEV Academy students (in Spanish).
The registration period for the next edition of the Master and the Specialisation Course in Motorsport & e-Racing is now open. For more information, please contact academy@qevtech.com.
